Lamont is a stoner rock trio founded in 1998 in Allston, Massachusetts, USA.
As of 2007 they have been on 4 different record companies, one for each of their 4 albums. Critics have said that their sound is raw 70's AC/DC style Rock and Roll mixed with Iggy Pop vocals and bluesy punk. They have opened for bands like Mojo Nixon, Reverend Horton Heat, and Drive-by Truckers as well as having a solid spot on the Emissions from the Monolith festivals. As of the summer of 2007 Lamont is officially broken-up. Pete Knipfing now plays with Psychobilly/death metal band "Mess With The Bull", along with members of stoner metal band Scissorfight. They also re-recorded a ZZ Top track for a 70's cover compilation album called Sucking The 70's. On a similar note, "Hotwire" from Thunder Boogie was featured in Tony Hawk's Underground.
